Plagiarism is when you pass off someone else's ideas or information as your own. As stated in the BCPSS Student Code of Conduct, Plagiarism is a form of academic dishonesty. To avoid plagiarism make sure that you are putting information into your own words and citing your sources. You can use Easybib to easily create your citations.
Copyright laws protect music, art, and writing from being reused without permission. Just because music or a picture is available to download on the internet does not mean that it can be used in your work. Make sure to find material using a source like Creative Commons to find material that is allowed to be reused and placed in your work.
